Editor options

This page holds settings that apply to the editing window in 40tude HTML. Settings are separately available for HTML and for Perl files.

Word wrap     Word-wrap text display

Auto-indent     When not in word-wrap mode, indent caret to first non-space character in line above

Smart tabs     When not in word-wrap mode, TAB keys move to next non-space character in line above

Smart Fill     When auto-indenting (Auto-indent required) or tabbing to a column (smart fill required) and "Use TAB" is active then 40tude HTML will fill the required gap with a minimum number of characters made up of TABs and spaces. When Smart Fill is absent, or Use Tab is absent, then auto-indent and tab to column will insert the required number of spaces

Use TAB     When present, causes TAB characters to be inserted into the text. When absent, spaces are used instead.

Mark wrapped lines     Show a glyph in the gutter for wrapped lines

Block curser for Overwrite     Show a block cursor when 40tude HTML is in overwrite mode

Word select     Double clicking selects word nearest to mouse position

Column track     Track the caret's vertical column during vertical movement through the text

Show line numbers     Show line numbers in the gutter

Show all characters     Show hidden white space characters as glyphs (applies to TAB, SPACE, NEWLINE and wrapped lines)

Visible Gutter     Show left gutter area

Gutter width     The gutter setting describes the width, in pixels, of the gray gutter at the left edge of the editing window

Tab size     Number of spaces a tab character communicates visibly
