Document info/dependencies

Document info/dependencies

This task can be utilized to find about which files are linked or embedded from one or more documents, what the total file size of all these documents is and how long a download of these files will take.

To use this task, select it from one of the task menu items (see Overview of tasks).

In the upcoming dialog you have to specify the following options:

Recursive level

The document info/dependencies task works recursivly, what means that if a link is found in a document, the links and embedded files in this document are evaluated again. The "Recursive level" box lets you specify how deep this recursive evaluation should go. If you only want to get information about the document(s) you passed through this function, you need to specify "0" in this field. "0" means that no embedded or linked files are evaluated.

Get image files

Check this box if you want to collect information about embedded image files.

Get other linked files

Check this box if you want to collect information about other files linked from documents. Other linked files are files that are neither recognized HTML files nor image files.

Get all files in touched directories

If this option is checked all files in a directory are automatically added to the result list if one file in this directory was evaluated. Use this option to quickly add a list of all files in a project.

Default filename

When collecting information about links to other HTML files, a link to a directory might be found, e.g. when <a href="../"> is found. To follow this link correctly, the functions needs to know the name the default index filename.

Results

The files found are presented in a file list showing information about each file. General information about all files and selected files in the list can be found at the lower part of the window.

Note that you can drag and drop files from the file list to the project management tree. This is a quick way to create project files from existing projects. (More in drag and drop support and project management.)
