On the yellow list cities and mountains on the map are displayed with
the population or altitude. If there are pictures available on the internet
for the selected city or mountain, they appear on the list on the right.
Click on
to zoom the map on the selected element.
Click on
to set the source point on the selected city or mountain, or
to set the destination point on the selected city or mountain.
You can add your own cities or mountain on the map. To remove one of
them, select it in the list and click on .
You cannot remove existing cities or mountain.
Amiglobe contains links to pictures, not the pictures themselves. Therefore,
to see the picture you need to download them (for each picture it is written
"Click on
to download image". If you have an active internet connection, click on
and the download will start. All pictures of the selected city or mountain
will be downloaded. A window will show you the progress of the download:
After this the image will appear in the window. The next time you will
start Amiglobe you will not need to download the image again.
Most of these pictures are taken from the Corbis Web site (www.corbis.com).
They are copyrighted and can be used only for your personal use (see the
Corbis site for more informations). As you can see, they are small and
there is a visible mark on them. Corbis allows users to purchase a bigger
image, without visible mark. Amiglobe provides a direct link to the Corbis
Web site for the image you select, by clicking on .
Amiglobe is not involved with the purchasing process, and does not make
agreements with Corbis. Registering Amiglobe does not give you discount
on the purchase of Corbis images, and Corbis image can be purchased separately
without using Amiglobe.

To copy on the clipboard the selected image, click on .
To print the selected image, click on .
You can sort the cities and mountain by population or altitude, by country, or by alphabetical order.
