The Guide to Blender Fire

8: Next Set of Particles with a new texture

As you know some fires got a nice redish glow arround the flames, just like a fire
place..

We're gonna Duplicate this fire and add another texture setting to it..

Select the Circle again. (It probally is allready selected, because we didn't
select anything else yet ;))

press SHIF-D to Dulpicate it and move it a bit upwards, just above the other
one. (that makes it easier to select each  object.)

As you see the particles stay in the same seed as the other particles..
We don't want that so where gonna change the seed of the particles..
goto the   Button.

And change the RANDLIFE: (you may pick your value) and SEED: (also to your
value you want it to be.)

Now we need to add a new Material.
On the left of the  Button there a little button that looks
like this .
Click on it and you will see:
|Material|
|ADD NEW |

select ADD NEW.
That will create a new Material for our new particle object.

If you done that then lets go back to the   button
Above the buttons of WOOD/MARBLE/MAGIC/BLEND etc.
Goto the .  Button.
if you click it then you will see..
|ADD NEW|
(Versions under 1.40 will also show |Tex|  as an option, you could also select that one because its a plain setup.)

then select ADD NEW.
The Text `Tex' on the button is changed to `Tex.001'
That means that we have created a new texture.
As you see it copied the Marble settings.
But we need Clouds now.. so select the CLOUDS button.

Set the NoiseSize to 0.900
the NoiseDepth stay's the same..
Under those 2 buttons are 2 other buttons called.

Soft Noise and Hard Noise.
Select the Hard Noise button.

Go back to the   Button.

Set the SIZEY: back to 1.00
