In this field you can define the graphic resolution.

Width

Here you can define the width of your image manually.

Height

Here you can define the height of your image manually.

Scale

Here you can adjust the height and the width automatically, when you make manual changes.


90 degrees left


Rotates the picture 90 degrees to the left.


90 degrees right


Rotates the picture 90 degrees to the right.


Free Rotation Angle


Rotates the picture by a specified angle.

Spin box Rotation angle

Displays the specified rotation angle.

Click here to rotate the picture to the left.

Modify Size


Click here to modify the size of an image.

Here you can define the size of an image.

Use the spin buttons to change the width of an image.

Scale

If you click this option, any modifications to height or width will automatically be adjusted proportionally to the unmodified dimensions.

Interpolation

Click this option to acheive an interpolation when you enlarge an image.



Crop


Use this option to crop the selected area.


RGB values


Click RGB Colors to open a dialog where you can modify the colors.

Move this slider to increase or decrease the red proportion of the image.

Move this slider to increase or decrease the green proportion of the image.

Move this slider to increase or decrease the blue proportion of your image.

Click here to open the dialog to define the brightness and contrast.

Threshold value

Specify the color proportion at which you want to convert a color to black.


Invert


Click here to invert the picture. This means that the color of each point will be set to its complementary color. This function can be used, for example, to convert scanned negatives to positives. You can invert a selected area as well as an entire graphic.

Click here to display an image in black and white.


16 colors (4-bit)


Use this command to display an image in 16 colors.


16 Grayscale (4-bit)


Displays an image in 16 grayscales.

Displays an image in 256 colors.

Click here to display your image as a charcoal drawing.



Mosaic


Use this function to group individual pixels together with the same color.

Here you can specify the number of pixels you want to group.

Use the option fields to specify the level of definition.

Low

Select this option for low definition.

Relief


Use this command to define the relief of an image.

Light position

Click in this field to specify the position of light source.


Posterize


Use this function to specify the number of the poster colors.

Poster colors

Select the extent of the color scale to be applied to the image.


Pop-art


Use this function to convert an image to a pop-art format.



Aging


Opens a dialog where you can define settings for the aging function.

Degree

Use the spin buttons to specify the % of the aging intensity.


Solarization


Opens a dialog where you can define the settings for solarization.

Effects

Specify here the degree and the type of solarization.

Threshold value

Use the spin buttons to specify the percent of brightness at which to start the pixel solarization.

Inversion

Select this field to invert the color of the pixels at the same time of the solarization.


Tile


Opens a dialog where you can specify the settings for the tile effect.

Element resolution

Select here the size of the tiles in pixel.

Width

Specify the width of the tiles (horizontal).

Height

Specify the height of the tiles (vertical).


Definition


Opens a dialog where you can specify the image definition.

Sharpness

Select here the desired definiton of your image.

Low

Select this option for low definiton.

Medium

Select this option for medium definiton.

High

Select this option for high definiton.


Smooth


Use this function to smooth an image.


Remove Noise


This command removes individual pixels (Noise).


When you select this command, all individual pixels (noise) in the graphic are deleted, without a confirmation dialog.

Click here to draw a straight line. Double-click to define this function as the default tool. Click your mouse where you want the line to begin and drag a line to the desired length. Release the mouse button at the end of the line. The line width and color corresponds to the settings in the Object bar.respectively If you press the right mouse button instead of the left when dragging, the line is drawn in the defined background color.(Depends on platform)

Click here to draw a filled rectangle. The rectangle is filled with the background color, and the border is assigned the foreground color and line width specified in the Object bar. You can also round object edges via the Object bar.

Use this icon to draw a filled ellipse. Ellipses are filled with the background color, and the border is assigned the foreground color and line width specified in the Object bar.

Click here to use the Airbrush tool. With this tool, you can "spray" an image in your document with the selected color.

The spray intensity for this function is defined in the Line Width field. If you use the respectively left(Depends on platform) mouse button, the Foreground color is applied, and if you press the Ctrl keyrespectively right mouse button(Depends on platform) , the Background color is applied.

StarImage is the program for creating and editing images.Below, you will find a description of the StarOffice help topics for images.








Menus


Here you will find a description of all menus and submenus along with the dialogs in an active image document. The commands used, for example, to edit, view, arrange, format, or print a document can only be selected in an open, active document. Active means that the document is in the screen foreground. To use the commands on a certain object, the corresponding object must be selected. The available menu commands are provided depending on the relevant context. For example, if an image in a text document is selected, you will find all the necessary commands used to edit images.













Window


With the commands in the Window menu you can open new document windows or close all at once. You can also find the document list here.








Further commands for windows can be found in the context menu of the status bar.


Append


The Append menu in StarImage is only visible if you select File-Document as eMail... to append the image to a new mail. If you insert a graphic created with StarImage into another StarOffice application, the menu structure adapts to the respective application.


Toolbar


The toolbar is located at the left of the StarOffice window. From here you can access the most important functions.
