Question: Paying for the Program "I downloaded your program and now I want to buy it. How can I pay?" Answer: "There are four ways to pay: - If you have an International VISA credit card or Diners Club International credit card you can send us a CARD Payment just clicking on the VISA icon in our How to Pay page or in the Try-Out Products page. You will find that the credit card information is transferred via Secure Server in an encoded format, so you can be sure that nobody else can use it. Ask your local card company about the new safeguards implemented internationally to prevent economic loss to the Internet user. Also, you can verify that the Secure Server is connected when you see a little (closed) golden lock at the lower right corner of the Internet Explorer 3.0 window or a (unbroken) golden key on the lower left corner of the Netscape Navigator 3.0 window. - If you still don't trust sending your credit card information via the Internet, you can send a fax to Costa Rica: + (506) 234-6607. (About 10%) Question: False Viruses "My Anti-Virus program is warning me that there is a Word.Generic virus in the Macros ! How is this possible? (!!!!!)" Answer: "Dear Customer: There are some antivirus programs that confuse the Open File statement in a Macro with a virus, and if you actually proceed to "correct the problem", the whole Macro code will be destroyed and rendered useless. There is no virus in the Macro files!. We recommend buying an updated trustful Antivirus program." Question: Finding the program code number "After seeing the guided tour I downloaded all four modules and the database, and I would like to order all four modules, however I am having problems. After downloading all I got was the setup, and did not get a code or a registration number to include in my VISA payment. I would like to order all four modules but I am not sure if I am ordering the code number or the disks, which is what I would like to do." Answer: "Dear Customer: Please proceed to install with SETUP. The installation process will unzip the programs and install them in the selected folder. After the programs are installed, you will get four free runs. A number (in blue digits) will appear in the starting window. Send us this number together with the VISA voucher, and we will immediately send you back a Registration Number that will activate the programs. If you desire to receive backup disks - besides the downloaded files-- simply add $12 and we will send them via airmail. However, you can use the programs as soon as you download them. The diskettes will simply serve as a backup." Question: Reinstalling the program "I had a crash in my system and lost all files in my hard disk. How do I reinstall Word Magic programs in my computer?" Answer: "When you installed the program, the installation procedure asked you to save the code number on a floppy disk. This diskette will reinstall the program in the same computer as many times as necessary. If you also lost your copy of PROPACK.EXE (original downloaded database and program files) you can download them again without cost. During the new setup the program will ask you the new registration number. At such time, insert the Reinstallation (Backup) Diskette and press the Reinstall button." (Do not confuse with the Key Disk, which is used for Moving to another computer, or for installing the program for the first time.) If you did not create the Reinstallation (Backup) Diskette during initial installation, you may do so now under Tools/Preferences/Installation, clicking on the Reinstallation Diskette option. If you bought the program in CD ROM or in diskettes, a Key Disk is already included. So, you do not have to worry about preparing one. Having a diskette-copy in your hands will permit you to reinstall as many times as necessary in the same computer, even after a Hard Disk crash. (Moving the program to a different computer, however, will always require for you to go through the UnActivate procedure)" Question: Moving to Another Computer "I want to delete Word Magic Tools from my computer and install in another one. What do I do?" Answer: "Dear Customer: All programs of Word Magic Tools have an UnActivate option. You will find this under Tools\Preferences\Installation. After clicking on UnActivate the program will ask you to insert a floppy disk in the floppy drive. At this moment an activation Code will be saved in the diskette. This diskette will serve as Key Disk for installation in other computers, or even the same computer if you decide to reinstall. You must keep it in a safe place in order to use it when needed. (Note: Upon reinstallation the program will ask you to insert a Key Disk. At that moment, please insert the Key Disk that you have just prepared)" Question: Uninstalling the program "How do I uninstall my program?" Answer: "There is an Uninstall option in the program group. Running this program will completely erase all files withing the Word Magic directory and sub directories. Be sure that you want to delete all files inside the indicated folders. (You may lose you added words) After uninstalling you will need to use your Reinstallation diskette in order to install the program again in the same computer, in case you are planning to do so. Be sure to prepare one! You may do it under Tools/Preferences/Installation. Also, you may want to prepare a Key Disk in order to install in another computer. You do this also under Tools/Preferences/Installation. The Reinstallation Diskette will not reinstall in the same computer after a Key Disk has been prepared. However, you may reinstall with the Key Disk" Question: Getting your registration number "I sent my VISA payment yesterday night. I still have not receive my registration number. How much time do I have to wait?" Answer: "It usually takes less than 12 hours to process your registration and payment information. Occasionally, due to e-mail delays out of our control, it could take as long as 48 hours. Please be patient." Question: Program version "I just downloaded an update of your program, but I am not really sure if the version I downloaded is the same old one or not. Where can I find the program version?" Answer: "Using the menu option Help/About you will find the version number of the currently installed program." Question: Finding Program Upgrades "I received your e-mail notifying me that I could download a new free upgrade of Word Magic Tools. I entered your site and found nothing indicating new upgrades. Where can I find these?" Answer: "It is our policy to upgrade programs and databases every two or three months or whenever a bug is found or reported. We place these upgrades overwriting the previous files. Therefore, you will find the upgrades exactly in the same spot where you downloaded the old files. Just take notice of the Last updated date. If it's recent you know you are downloading an upgraded version." Question: Free upgrades and upgrades with a fee "Are all upgrades free?" Answer: "Up till now, they have been. They will always be free if the reason for the upgrade was the fixing of a bug. In the future, Word Magic Software is planning a new series of Language Tools, which will have considerable enlargements in databases and a lot of new features. These will be offered as new versions that you will be able to obtain at a discount (upgrade) price." Question: Installation problem: Could not find databases! "I downloaded the modules but I am getting the message "Could not find databases!". What am I doing wrong?" Answer: "Perhpas there was a failure in the unzipping stage. Verify if you have aproximately 7 megas of .DIC files. If not, you have to unzip again." Or, it could be that by mistake you answered YES upon reinstallation of the software, when requested to upgrade the dictionaries with your added (User's ) dictionaries, and the process was truncated incomplete. Check if you have files with .OLD extension, and check if your .DIC files are zero-size. If this is true, then simply RENAME all .OLD files as .DIC files, and the problem will be solved. Question: Cannot Translate an Entire Document "I downloaded the modules but I can't get them to translate my document. What can I do?" Answer: "Word Magic Tools are a kit of Language Tools to assist you in the translation process. They are not text translators. English-Spanish Interpreter, our new upcoming program, will be able to do exactly that: the automatic translation of a whole document at the click of a button. Please be on the watch for the arrival of this unique and great product." Question: Hiding the Logo at Startup "I do not want to see any logo every time I load Word Magic Tools. How do I do this?" Answer: "Simply uncheck the option Show Logo at Startup under the menu option Tools/Preferences/General." Question: Connecting with your Word Processor "I did not install the connection within my word processor and Word Magic Modules during the installation process. How can I install them now?" Answer: "There are two ways to do this: Select the desired macro inside the Word Magic Tools Program Group. Start/Programs/Word Magic Tools under Windows 95 or select Word Magic Tools program group from the Program Manager under Windows 3.1x. Run your Word Processor and open the respective macro using the Word Processor's File/Open function. The location of Word Magic macros is under the Macros folder inside Word Magic Tools folder. The macro will install automatically upon opening. Answer: "With the Standard version you get only one license. With the Professional version you have the option of purchasing two additional licenses at only $25 each." Question: Standard Version vs. Professional Version "What is the difference between the Standard Version and the Professional Version?" Answer: "There is much more value included in the Professional Version, because you have not only more functionality, a much more larger databases but also, you can have two additional licenses for only $25 each. Answer: "If you are a registered user you get: Free on-line technical support Notification of upgrades and new versions Considerably reduced prices on upgrades" Question: Installation Problem: Cannot Find Downloaded File "I downloaded a file from your page but don't know where it is!" Answer: "When you click on a file to download it (from any Web site), your Web Browser will ask you where you want to save that file. You have to select a folder in your hard disk. That folder is the location of the downloaded file! If you don't remember the name of that folder, you could search its location using Windows 95 Start/Find/Files or Folders function or any other file searching program. Answer: "In order to get a diskette version, simply add US $12 to your VISA Voucher and we will send the diskettes containing the programs.
