What is a Profile?
An application profile specifies what information you
want to see in an audit report for a user's machine. An
application profile can include the following audit items:
- Operating System info such as display settings,
International settings, and Windows version.
- System resource information that describes the current state of the
user's machine. This includes information such as the amount of free disk space,
what DLLs are loaded into memory, what applications are running, and how much
system memory is available.
- Hardware information such as the amount of RAM and the
type of graphics card.
- File information such as date, time, version, and
location.
- ActiveX controls.
- Shortcuts.
- Contents of ASCII files such as .INI, .SYS, and .BAT
files.
- Environment variable settings.
- Registry entries.

Application profiles are saved in .TRP files. A .TRP file is
an ASCII file.
