PROTECTION OF
TOPOGRAPHIES OF SEMICONDUCTOR PRODUCTS
In semiconductor industry the crucial solution for the chip to
be manufactured is the location of the circuit elements in the
integrated circuits and their interconnection. The above solution
and/or its representing carries no doubt the features of the
creative work, that must be protected against pirating and
unjustified enrichment. The record ofthe certain topography of
semiconductor product in the State Register is serving this
purpose. Registration of the semiconductor product topography in
the State Register is resulting exclusive ly from the application
filed with the Office. The right to have the topography protected
can be exercised by the citizens of the Czech Republic only or
persons living in the Republic or company located here. By the
others just under the condition of reciprocity. Applica tion
procedure is carried out by the Office on the registration
principle, no examination takes place of the substantive
conditions of protection. Registration can be opposed and
cancelled. The Offiee is keeping the Topographies Register and is
recording there all the crucial data and keeps it opened for the
public.
