Felix Jenewein
(1857 - 1905), a native of Kutna Hora who became a renowned
artist, studied painting at the Prague Academy between 1873 and 1879 under
Professor Jan Swerts, and from 1879 to 1880 under Josef Trenkwald in Vienna.
Jenewein, a painter of figurative historical and religious work, was a member of
the "National Theatre generation" whose intense religious themes followed on
from the Preraphaelites and Nazarenes.
