The chancellery of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic is a statutory body, which represents the Office externally, directs and controls its activities, and assumes responsibility for it. The Chancellor is responsible to the President of the Republic.

Vice-Chancellor of the Office of the Czech President

The Vice-Chancellor of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic, as a statutory body, substitutes for the Chancellor in his absence to the full extent of his charge, and decides on matters which the Chancellor has delegated to him. The Vice-Chancellor is responsible to the Chancellor, who directs him and assigns his duties.

Secretariat of the President

The Secretariat of the President of the Czech Republic effectuates the daily activities of the functions for the Presidency, as well as other duties according to President's direct instruction. The Secretariat is responsible directly to the President in these matters. In other cases, it is responsible to the Chancellor. The Secretariat is headed by a Director of the Department, and who simultaneously acts as the Secretary of the President and implements his personal agenda and administers his personal correspondence.

Protocol

Protocol is responsible for official matters of diplomatic form, formality, and etiquette observed on state occasions, and upholds the constitutional authority of the President as they relate to his representation externally, and for the official program of the President. Protocol is headed by a Director.

Press Department

The Press Department informs the public of the political and public actions of the President, familiarizes the public with the positions of the President, publicizes the President's public appearances, organizes press conferences, promotes the operational relationship of the President with the press, and informs the public of cultural and social functions at Prague Castle. The Press Department is headed by a Director, who is simultaneously the Spokesman for the President.

Political Department

The Political Department gathers, compiles and appraises information on the actions of the important political bodies of state administration and government, political parties, economic subjects, and other organizations for use by the Office of the President. The Political Department also compiles information on the foreign policy of the Czech Republic, international relations, and prepares bases and recommendations for foreign policy negotiations and appearances by the President. The Political Department is headed by a Director.

Legislative Department

The Legislative Department prepares recommendations for decisions by the President concerning the execution of his constitutional authority and obligations in the legislative process and during of his term. The Legislative Department is headed by a Director.

Constituent Relations Department

The Constituent Relations Department handles specific cases brought to their attention by constituents and maintains written and personal contact with citizens and legal entities during their resolution. Furthermore, the Department conducts the agenda of individual pardons granted by the President. The Constituent Relations Department is headed by a Director.

National Heritage Department

The National Heritage Department administers the places designated as National Heritage sites in the protected areas of Prague Castle and the grounds of the mansion at Lany. The National Heritage Department is headed by a Director.

The Finance Department manages the budget and financial activities of the Office, and the economic relations with state- subsidized organizations instituted by the Office. The Finance Department is headed by a Director.

Military Office

The Military Office is a specific military body of the Czech Armed Forces, which, amongst its duties, directs the independent Organizational Order of the Military Office, approved by the President. The Military Office carries out duties related to the authority of the President as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the administration of the Prague Castle guard. The Military Office is headed by the Chief of the Military Office.
