CoolPowers2

CoolPowers2 is a suite of twelve
plug-ins designed to make your life easier. Some of them are fun, some of them are
utilities, but hopefully all of them will be useful in your trueSpace work.
Components:
• Wiggledy
• Landmass
• Multiplex
• Displacedatplace
• Particulator
• Superobjects
• Lightf/x
• Squashnstretch
• Showmehideu
• Stat!
• Paintbox
• Coolmirror
Wiggledy
Wiggledy will take the selected polyhedron
and randomly modify each vertex according to the amount of "spikiness" you
specify. It can be useful for creating rocks, fabric, hair, etc.
Landmass

A fractal landscape generator. You have
control over the roughness, height, and overall size of the landscape, as well as adding
noise to the routine, automatically triangulating the object, and simple water plane
generation.
Multiplex

This can be used to replicate an object many
times, applying rotation, translation, and scaling factors to each new object. Animation
of these objects is supported, allowing you to create fantastic shapes that grow over
time, or animate the original object through a mathematically calculated path.
Displacedatplace
Creates an object according to a height map.
Displacement is similar to bump mapping, but instead of giving the effect of depth, it
actually creates geometry according to an image file. Common uses include landscaping,
carving, and embossing.
Particulator
An artistically-minded scatter tool. It will
copy one object all over the surface of the currently selected object, with a certain
amount of noise so as to avoid something that looks too uniform.
Superobjects

This plug-in creates superquadratic objects,
both supertoroids and superellipsoids. The biggest use is for objects with rounded edges,
but they are very versitile. Just by changing a couple of properties, you can create
chainlinks, propellers, tires, fortune cookies.. The list is virtually endless! And with
the "liveupdate" feature, you can see the effect of the changes as they happen.
Lightf/x
Creates light arrays or light strips --
groups of lights arranged in a pattern. Because of the multiple lights, the resulting
shadows are much smoother than from a single light.
Squashnstretch
A simple tool designed to help you squash and
stretch objects automatically, without having to do the mouse button shuffle.
Showmehideu
This is designed to keep screen refresh
speedy when you're working on a large scene by hiding the other objects.
Stat!
Designed to help keep track of the three main
scene statistics: vertices, polygons, and lights. It produces a list of objects so you can
see exactly which polyhedron is taking up the largest amount polygons, etc.
Paintbox
Cerulean Blue may be a very relaxing, almost
hypnotic color, but do you know what it looks like? Now it's only a click away. It may
seem strange to want a textual representation for colors, but believe us, it's much faster
to find a specific color from a list than matching color swatches!
Coolmirror
This is a new mirror tool that works a bit
differently than the built-in Caligari mirror tool. It works at the vertex level to truly
flip your polyhedra. |
