PMLOAD will scan a specified directory and auto load ALL patches in the directory.. EXAMPLE: PMLOAD C:\SERVER.312\PATCHES\NATIVE\START - "PATCHES" console command has been enhanced. Patches are displayed alphabetically. Total number of Patches are at the bottom of the list. ___________________________________________________________________________ =========================================================================== Section 1 Installation method 1 using PATCH312.NLM. ___________________________________________________________________________ To Copy files : Explode the patch kit to a diskette. Place diskette in "A:" drive at the Server. Load "A:\PATCH312.NLM" The following events will occur: Patches will be copied PM312 will be loaded PMLOAD will scan the directory where the patch are & load them A backup of The STARTUP.NCF file will made and then the STARTUP.NCF will be updated.. NOTE: When installing a patch kit using PATCH312.NLM, all files copied to the DOS partition will not retain the original file DATE and TIME. All files copied will obtain CURRENT DATE and TIME. However, the "Modules" console command will display correct DATE and TIME as well as version of the modules. =========================================================================== Section 2 Installation method 2, manual coping of files. ___________________________________________________________________________ DOWN THE SERVER AND EXIT THE SERVER EXPLODE THE PATCH KIT TO A DISKETTE. PLACE DISKETTE IN "A:" DRIVE AT THE SERVER. CREATE A DIRECTORY C:\SERVER.312\PATCHES XCOPY A:\NATIVE\START\*.* C:\SERVER.312\PATCHES ADD THE FOLLOWING TWO LINES TO THE BEGINNING OF THE STARTUP.NCF LOAD C:\SERVER.312\PATCHES\PM312 PMLOAD C:\SERVER.312\PATCHES\ REMOVE ALL OTHER STATEMENTS TO LOAD PM312 OR PATCHES FROM THE STARTUP.NCF FILE. RUN SERVER.EXE =========================================================================== Issue: Invalid Startup Command when execting STARTUP.NCF! Invalid Startup Command: PMLOAD C:\SERVER.312\PATCHES\312pt9\ loading module PATCHMAN.NLM Patch Manager for NetWare v3.11 (960122) Version 2.61 January 22, 1996 Copyright 1996 Novell, Inc. All rights reserved. Solution: None, Because of the way that the Startup.ncf file is parsed, the "Invalid Startup Command" is displayed on the "PMLOAD" line.
