Right Clip 1.0 by Scott Jones What is Right Clip? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Right Clip was designed with Windows 95's right mouse button popup menus for text boxes in mind. You will see several text boxes in a small window. Right-click any text box to paste a word or phrase from the Windows Clipboard that you may need later. Right-click again to either copy the word or phrase back to the Windows Clipboard. More text boxes are available on the other tabs. Right Clip is handy for text-based chat such as an online service or IRC. If you find any other good uses for Right Clip, please let me know (e-mail address below). File List ~~~~~~~~~ You will find these files in the RClip11.zip file. RightClp.txt 4,262 bytes 06-25-96 3:24p This file! RightClp.exe 17,920 bytes 06-25-96 3:58p Right Clip 1.1 System Requirements ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you can run Windows 95, Right Clip should work. Disk Space: about 20KB (does not include the VB4 runtime files, which are about 1MB) Visual Basic 4.0 runtime files (VB40032.dll, etc.) If you run Windows NT 3.5x or 4.0, please let me know if Right Clip works, thanks. Installation ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Installation is easy, just copy or move RightClp.exe and RightClp.txt in any directory (such as C:\RightClp, or your Windows directory). Create a shortcut to RightClp.exe and place it in your Startup group if you wish to have it available automatically when you start your computer. Uninstallation ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Uninstallation should be simple, delete the RightClp.exe and RightClp.txt files from wherever you put it and any shortcuts you may have created. I didn't put anything in the program that writes to the Windows Registry so there should not be anything about Right Clip in there (unless you put something in there. :) How to Use Right Clip ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All text boxes in Windows 95 have a menu that pops up when the right mouse button is clicked. This menu usually has 6 choices: - Undo Ctrl+Z - Cut Ctrl+X - Copy Ctrl+C - Paste Ctrl+V - Delete Del - Select all Some of these choices are also available using the keyboard. The keyboard shortcuts are shown on the right. Right Clip provides a total of 26 text boxes (20 short and 6 long) for storing clips of text. Use the menu to copy or paste words, phrases, etc. to and from the Windows Clipboard. As with any other text box, you can edit the text in them. Use the close button [X] to close Right Clip. Hide Right Clip with the minimize button [_]. If Right Clip is uploaded to a BBS, ftp site or included on a shareware collection on CD-ROM or some other media, please let me know. No Guarantees or warranties ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The software is provided "AS IS." There are no guarantees or warranties of any kind for the software. It's not my fault if something "bad" happens. Version History ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1.0 - Source lost to DriveSpace :P 1.1 - First release after rewriting Why I don't use "Beta" versions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have downloaded and used many Windows programs, very few are considered to be "release" versions. Programmers are always adding new features before the previous version finishes the beta stage and is released. Also, there is no such thing as bugfree software, so theoretically all software is still in beta. Those are my views, email me if you have a comment. Anyway, if you find a bug, please let me know what system you have and be as detailed as possible. The more info, the easier it is to diagnose the problem. Thanks for trying Right Clip! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
