1. Abstract
-----------
This program is both a DIRECTORY COMPARE UTILITY and a FILE COMPARE
UTILITY.  Use it to locate and reconcile differences in directories
and files.


2. System Requirements
----------------------
Beyond Compare for Windows95/NT requires Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51,
or Windows NT 4.0.  A 16-bit version is also available for Windows 3.x
(see our web site).


3. Installation 
---------------
To keep the download small, this packaging of Beyond Compare does not
use an install program.  The included files (listed below) should be
unzipped into a directory of your choice, for instance C:\BEYOND32.

A desktop icon can be created for BEYOND32.EXE by dragging from the
Windows Explorer.


4. Upgrading From an Earlier Version
------------------------------------
You can install this version over an earlier version if you wish.
The program settings (stored in the file BEYOND32.INI in your Windows
directory) are forwards and backwards compatible.

Version 1.5 introduces new toolbar buttons.  They will not appear
automatically if you have previously customized your toolbar.  You can
review or modify your toolbar layout by right-clicking over it.

The command line options have changed slightly from version 1.4 and
before.  If you have created shortcuts that launch Beyond Compare
with specific session names, you may have to add quotation marks to
your shortcut targets.  See the "Command Line Parameters" topic in the
help file for the new rules.


5. Uninstalling
---------------
To uninstall Beyond Compare delete the above mentioned files, as well
as BEYOND32.INI in your Windows directory.


6. Registration
---------------
Beyond Compare is shareware, with a price of $30.  You can register
through CompuServe's SWREG (ID# 13019), by credit card through
the Registration Network (www.swregnet.com), or you can register
through the mail.  Complete details are in the help file.
