Getting information

StickyNote provides an Information dialog, accessible from the main StickyNote menu. In this dialog you will find the StickyNote version number, the number of stickies show and hidden, the total free memory available to Windows and the memory performance.

Memory performance reflects the past performance of Windows memory handling. If Windows has run out of memory and asked programs to compact, this item changes from "normal" to "poor." If your memory performance is poor, you may wish to close some open programs.

StickyNote provides memory usage statistics as a service. This information does not reflect the way in which StickyNote is running.

You can also see some of your network settings in the Information dialog. If you are connected to a network, you will see your computer’s IP address in the "Computer name" field. Others can use this address to send you notes. Your network status is also displayed; "Listening" means that all network functionality is on, and StickyNote will accept all incoming notes; "Deaf" means StickyNote will reject incoming notes; and "Disconnected" means StickyNote is not using network features.

To display the information window, open StickyNote’s main menu (right click the StickyNote icon in the system tray) and choose "Information."
