README file for Cache View for Netscape V2.0 http://www.progsoc.uts.edu.au/~timj/cv/ Tim Johnson 17th October, 1998 WHAT IS IT? Cache View is a (FREEWARE!) viewer for the Netscape NavigatorTM Cache. You can open the cached files for viewing, and copy or move them out of the cache. It will even reconstruct the names and directory paths of the files for you. It makes emptying the files in the cache easier than ever. The intuitive Windows 95 interface makes Cache View easy to learn and even easier to use. Cache View extracts the following information about cached files from the fat.db file: URL, Size (in bytes), MIME Type, Last modified date, Date the file was downloaded, and the Expiry date. Cache View is a 32 bit Windows program, and so requires Windows 95 or Windows NT. It works with all versions of Netscape from V2. INSTALL Just unzip and run the Setup.exe program. You may have to go into the View->Options menu the first time you run Cache View to specify your cache directory.
