The Notebook is an small text editor, it can save the text using two different files formats:

• ASCII text files with .TXT file extension. This format doesn't store any text formatting, like bold italic, centered, etc. This is the format used by default.

• Rich Text Format files, with .RTF file extension. This format supports formatting and can be also read by Microsoft Write, WordPad or Word program and by many other text editors.
