Client To Client
Source Exchange
eMule is able to acquire sources for downloads from other
eMule clients.
For well shared files every 10 minutes a random client in
the source list of a particular download is asked for its
sources.
If the file is rare, i.e. less than 40 sources, every client
in the list is asked for its sources in this interval.
Only sources for missing parts are acquired. This is done
via TCP and the packets are compressed to save bandwidth.

The protocol used is not compatible with
mldonkey's source propagation protocol. |
