Registry Key Ownership
Note: this functionality is only available when running on Windows XP/2000NT.
Resplendent Registrar supports the security features of Windows XP, 2000 and NT allowing you to view and take ownership of a registry key.
Taking ownership of a registry key is not a common operation. It is typically an operation that an administrator would use as a last resort to gain access to a registry key
To display the current owner of a registry key, select it and choose Properties from the Main Menu. The current registered owner of the registry key is displayed in the Owner field. To take ownership, press the Take Owership button.
For more information on registry key ownership, refer to the Help documentation of regedt32.exe. Simply run regedt32.exe at a command prompt and select help. changes can only be undone by restoring from a registry backup and not
