Now that both images have been loaded, you may notice that the morphing lines (the yellow-dotted facial outline) are not aligned properly or notice white colored areas outlining your image. All this depends on the size of the face and where it is located relative to the image as a whole.
Alignment is one of the most important aspects of TalkingShow™. If it is not correctly done, the expressions and head movements won't match up properly with the image and thus in turn, the realism factor will suffer. So, be sure to properly align the image with the outline before you begin incorporating voice clips.
Tip: Whenever you make an error, remember you can always undo your action by pressing CTRL-Z or HDP > Undo available only for the Head Definition Pack mode.
The default is the Rotate command. You won't have to rotate your image, since the first step is to line up your image with the morphing lines. Click Align in the right toolbar or go to HDP > Align.
Info: The XY axes are your basic two-dimensional coordinates for flat images with X coordinate representing the width and Y the height. The Z-axis measures the depth of the image.
Simply move the cursor over the border, which will then be highlighted, and then click and drag the border so it lines up with the face.
Tip: During alignment, you may rotate your image by holding down CTRL as you drag your image, or pan by holding down the SPACEBAR and repeating the same dragging action, or zoom by holding down SHIFT and rolling the mouse forward or backwards. Release to return to alignment.
Once the borders are approximately lined up, place the cursor over certain facial features (e.g. eyes or mouth) and they will be highlighted in white. Move them by clicking and dragging.
After all the facial features are roughly lined up, begin moving the individual feature points, which will be highlighted in red, one at a time.
Tip: For points located at the top of the border, try to drag the points lower so that it is centered between the scalp and outer surface of your hair. This way, it'll produce a more realistic effect when head motion is being utilized and take advantage of TalkingShow™'s remarkable proprietary feature that renders the hair's appearance to appear extremely genuine.
Test the alignment frequently by pressing the open mouth, blink, and move head buttons in the Preview window located on the left side of TalkingShow™ Studio (refer to the A Visual Overview) or go to Preview > to choose.
If you prefer, you may also alter the depth of your facial image. It is recommended that you first use Rotate in order to view it along the Z-axis (sideways). Click Z-axis or go to HDP > Align By > Z-Axis.
Note: After alignment, if a white colored outline encapsulating your image is still evident, this is because the mask that you created may need a little bit of retouching. The following section is just one of the many ways in retouching your mask. Please refer to your software's user's guide or online help for more information on other techniques.
