Programs and paths preferences
Here you can explicitly set the location of folders used by Opera, and to configure external programs that Opera uses for various purposes.
Opera clients
Show e-mail client |
Hides the built-in e-mail client in Opera if unchecked |
Show instant messaging client |
Hides the built-in instant messenger in Opera if unchecked |
Show news client |
Hides the built-in news client in Opera if unchecked |
Paths
Opera directory |
This is the location of Opera's files.
Don't change this unless you know what you are doing.

Download directory |
If you choose "Open" when downloading a file, the file is put in this folder, as opposed to "Save", where you specify the folder each time |
Programs
Source viewer |
Choose your favorite text editor to view the source of Web pages.
You can view the source of a Web page from the View menu.

Telnet program |
Telnet is used to communicate with other computers through a command-line interface.
Relevant for advanced users only.

TN3270 program |
TN3270 communicates with IBM mainframes.
Relevant for advanced users only (see IETF RFC 1576 for details).
