System requirements
To make presentations...
To run CD Presenter, you need:
- A 150MHz Pentium PC or faster
- A minimum of 8Mb RAM, 12Mb or more recommended
- A display set to 800x600 resolution and thousands or millions of colours (16 or 24-bit colour)
- A mouse or other pointing device
- A Sound card
- Approx 70Mb hard disk space (for a full install)
- A CD-ROM Writer, CD-RW drive or similar, for making finished discs
- Windows 95, 98, NT (version 4 or later), 2000, ME or XP
Most modern PCs meet these requirements. However, you may need to adjust the display settings on some to
give an 800x600 or lager display and more than 256 colours. You can do this on most PCs by:
- Click on 'Start' ... 'Settings'
- Choose 'Control Panel'
- Choose 'Display'
- Choose 'Settings'
- Select thousands or millions of colours (16 or 24-bit) and 800x600
Some PCs have a display icon in the 'system tray' at the far end of the taskbar which will adjust the display colours
and resolutions quickly. On many PCs, right clicking on the Windows desktop background and choosing 'Properties' will call
up the relevant part of the control panel.
CDR Presenter will run on slower or lower specification hardware than that recommended above
but performance may not be good and not all features may operate correctly.
To run presentations
CDR Presenter's presentations are designed to run without any setting up on a wide range of PCs so that you can
confidently send or give out finished discs for other people to use. The requirements are similar to those above except
that no hard disk space is required and presentations will run in less memory than the Designer software.
Users will need to set their displays to 800x600 and to 16 or 24-bit colour for finished presentations to display
properly but most up-to-date PCs are already configured this way.
