Installing Additional Software

Plug-ins are software modules that enrich your experience on the World Wide Web. Plug-ins work with Netscape Communicator to bring you sound, video, animation, and interaction from web pages. The table below shows the plug-ins that are automatically installed as part of Dial-Up Edition.

To find out more about the plug-ins that are installed with Dial-Up Edition, do one of the following: Note: If you have any third-party plug-ins installed in the Plugins folder from a previous version of Navigator, you will need to reinstall the plug-ins in the Communicator Plugins folder.

Installing Dial-Up Edition bonus plug-ins

In addition to the automatically installed Communicator plug-ins, Dial-Up Edition contains several bonus plug-ins that provide even more interaction for web pages. These plug-ins must be installed separately. The table below describes the bonus Dial-Up Edition plug-ins. The availability of the plug-ins varies by the platform (Windows or Macintosh) that you're using.
