Highlights of Amiga Active CD 9
Here are a few highlights of this Amiga Active CD. This is only to get you
started, the whole CD is packed with useful and entertaining material. These
highlights contain a few pointers, but half the fun is in exploring the CD yourself.
As predicted last month, there was plenty of software to include on this month's CD. More than
would fit, we have had to remove material to make space.
The Magazine section contains files and software related to the articles in the magazine.
This month we have:
- Heretic II - a demo of this new PPC game
- Photogenics - a tutorial on the use of Photogenics
- Demo versions of software reviewed, inlcuding AWeb, IBrowse, Voyager, MetalWEB and AEMail.
- Screenshots of the forthcoming game SiN
- copies of software covered in Active Shareware, Online and Masterclass
This standard reference section contains a wide variety of useful information.
Web sites, UK Amiga User Groups, answers to FAQs (Frequently Asked questions), postings to
Amiga mailing lists and AmiBench classified advertising collected in one handy reference section.
Elbox's prolofic codrers ponce again provide updated driver spoftware for their hardware.
We also have the latest upgrades for PowerPC cards.
When things go wrong, this is the place to look. Disk backup and recovery tools, alongside the
software you need to get a system up and running after a disaster.
We have the winners from Mekka Symposium 2000. We couldn't get the winning demos from The
Gathering 2000 in tijme, so that should be something to look forward to next month.
Whether you want to excercies your reflexes or your grey matter, there's plenty to keep you
entertained in here.
We have plenty of software for the budding artist. Personal Paint, Perfect Paint and an upgrade
for fxPAINT should keep you busy. If you run out of inspiration, there's a tutorial on Photogenics.
Miami Deluxe has finally been released. We bring you a demo version, upgradable online.
FTP is well catered for this month, with three dedicated FTP clients, an FTP server and several
other programs useful for downloading files.
Compilers, assemblers and toolkits for the experienced coder, but also GUI creation software
for the ARexx dabbler. There's something for everyone here.
This wouldn't be an AACD without a selection of quality mods. If you'd rather create mods
than listen to them, we have the software to use.
As usual, this section contains a variety of programs. Software to read or convert MSWord
documents alongside a Star Trek database. What more could you want?
