Human Impact on the Environment
All plants and animals have an impact on their environment to a greater or lesser degree. The presence of plant life on Earth is the reason why our atmosphere is so oxygen-rich. But successful species live in balance with the environment that produced them. Mankind is unique in the range of habitats we have mastered, but there are concerns that population pressures, intensive agriculture and industrial activities are threatening our environment both locally and globally.
