System rules can be used for two purposes:
To create a rule that will be applied to all applications.
To create a rule that will allow or block low level system network activity.
Right after installation, Outpost Firewall has built-in presets for the following system activities:
Allow DNS Resolving
Outgoing DHCP
Allow Inbound Identification
Allow GRE Protocol
Deny Unknown Protocols
Allow Inbound/Outbound loopback.
These settings are for advanced users only. If any are incorrectly changed for your system or network, it could result in your firewall not working as expected. In most cases, you do not need to change these rules or add yours.
