Developer's kit adds fax capability immediately to any Clipper application

Portland, OR - MBS Software released today its newest product, the DB Fax
Developer's Kit which lets programmers add network fax capability to
Clipper based applications. The package provides automatic transfer of
contact data to the fax screen, single and broadcast fax capability from
single and multiple data bases, and supports mergeletter faxes using
MS-Word, Word Pefect or the built-in word processor. The DB Fax Developer's
Kit retails for $795. MBS Software can be reached at (800) 962-9310.

Although programmers aren't expected to pay royality for the usuage of the
library, users will need the stand-alone DB Fax Connection to access the
application's fax capability. With the DB Fax Connection installed,
end-users can take advantage of the fax capability of the application. The
enclosed DB Fax library consists of three functions, each of them adding
some level of fax capability. Following is a short description of each of
  the functions:

The NETWORK FAX SUBMIT function allows to fax specific documents from the
application. Adds just 7K to the Overlay area of the Clipper application.
Network fax capability while using a minimum of code space.

The FAX SEND function displays a screen, and allows the end-user to select
files, and transmits the fax or submits it to a network fax server. It
adds about 90K to the Overlay area of the Clipper application. Offers full
featured fax capability to existing application.

The FAX QUEUE function allows full access to all DB FAX Connection
functions, including mass sending, file maintenance, and fax controls. It
adds about 200K to the Overlay area of the Clipper application.

The DB Fax Connection can be entirely integrated into any Clipper
application. FoxBase developers can take advantage of the same features by
shelling to the command line interface. A FoxPro version is under
  development.

The DB Fax Developer's Kit comes with both the single user and a network
version of the stand-alone DB Fax Connection; DB Merge a merge and import
utility program; and the DB Fax library necessary to compile fax routines
into Clipper based application. MBS Software has been producing dBase
  add-on products since 1987.
