To open a Web site in a new window

  1. On the File menu, choose Open Location.
  2. Type the address.
  3. To display the page in a new window, select the Open In New Window check box.
  4. Click Open.

To visit the home page

The home page is the page that Internet Explorer displays when it is first opened.

To see where you've been

  1. Click and hold on the Go menu. The pages you viewed are at the bottom of the menu. You can go to a page by choosing it from the Go menu.
  2. To see more options, choose Open History from the Go menu.

  2. Choose the font size you want.

To export the history list

  1. On the Go menu, choose Open History.
  2. Make sure the History window is active by clicking it.
  3. On the File menu, choose Export. The history list will be exported as an HTML document.

To download a file to your computer

  1. On the File menu, choose Download File.
  2. Type the URL of the file you want to download.
  3. The location where the file will be downloaded is displayed in the Save Location area. If you want to change the location, click Change.
  4. Click Download.

    The Download Manager will open and provide you with information about the status, size, and amount of data transferred. You can continue to visit Web pages while this file is downloading in the background.

To copy text to the Clipboard

  1. In the page that contains the information you want to copy, select the information.
  2. On the Edit menu, choose Copy.
  3. In the document where you want the information to appear, click where you want to place it.
  4. On the Edit menu, choose Paste.

To save a link on a page to your computer

  1. Point to the link, press and hold down the mouse button, and then choose Download Link To Disk from the context menu.
  2. Type a name for the item.
  3. Select the location where you want the item saved.
  4. Click Save. Internet Explorer saves a copy of the page, not an alias to it.

To save the text on the current page on your computer

  1. On the File menu, choose Save As.
  2. Type a name for the page.
  3. Specify the location where you want the page saved.
  4. On the Format menu, choose HTML Source to save the text and HTML tags, or choose Plain Text to save the text only.
  5. Click Save.

To print a Web page

  1. If the file you want to print is contained in a frame, click inside the frame.
  2. On the File menu, choose Print.
  3. Adjust settings as needed.
  4. Click Print.

To view the HTML source for a file in a frame

  1. Click inside the frame that contains the HTML source you want to view.
  2. Press and hold down the mouse button, and then choose View Source from the context menu.

    You cannot edit a page that is on the Web, but you can save a copy of the page on your hard disk and edit that copy.
