I was treated like an imbecile

My name is Adam and I have previously worked for McDonalds for 6 months.
I also have friends that work at McDonalds. From personal experience, I
can say that I was treated like an imbecile because I couldn't do
everything as quickly or as efficiently as some of the workers that had
been there longer than myself. Recently, I have been working in a more
"respectable" position. My friends, however, are still at their same
jobs. I can safely say that they hate it. They too were, and still are
treated like no-hopers, even though they have put their all into the
franchise.

On numerous occasions they have told me they need to get out. They
can't, though. They started the job in High School, and because of the
"good" money, they gave up the stresses of homework and lectures and
tutorials. Now, it is next impossible to find another job- after all,
they have not matriculated, much less had any relevant work experience.
And still they are treated like shit.

However, there are benefits of being a McDonalds worker. For example,
you get half price food at your place of employment. And now, there is a
"Gold card" which entitles you to 20% discount whenever you eat
McDonalds. And not just at the one store. Bargain.

Anyway, I just thought I needed to say something. Not like it will
change anything.

Regards, Adam.
