: Hi Cara,
: Hasn't it ever occurred to you that you may have been raised in a media saturated environment that extols the values of those who live off the sweat, blood and toil of others? Hasn't it ever occurred to you that in a democratic society that there is actually more propaganda than in any of the pseudo-socialist (actually state capitalist) societies?
: You may be patriotic but do you really understand the amount of
: indoctrination that is used to get masses of people to be patriotic? I
: don't think you do. In all your blusterings about America hasn't it come to mind that a vast genocide was perpetrated in order to open up the frontier and not even honestly investigated by most American academics until the 70's? Don't you know that over 150 nations were exterminated in what is now called the USA? A nation that really doesn't have a real name.
: Read it and weep Cara. America's history is a lie and you believe it.

Hello Quincunx,

Yes I am aware of the mass genocide that occured in the very region of this great nation were I live. Do I feel bad? Yes. Do I feel guilty? No. Why should I? I didn't slaughter the thousands of indigionous peoples that once lived here. I am not responsible. But my nation is responsible for seeding democracy throughout the world and offering support and aid to many other nations in times of war and peace.

Every nation has something to be ashamed of. America has slavery and native American genocide. The UK has various asshole monarchies and genocides of it's own. France can't be too proud of the Old Kingdom and the reign of terror. Germany, well let's not get into Germany. The fact is, that we've all done evil things. You probably aren't too proud of something that happened over the hills there Mr. Quincunx.

America's has a rich and proud history. Don't tell me that my history is a lie. Thanks to many events that occured in America's history, we are allowed to bust on it. So say what you want, but I won't respond to any more USA bashing. Also, don't you think this is a little irrelivant? Let's stick to the topic please.

Cara
