What did you expect?

: Give me a break. (I do deserve a break today, don't I?!)

My thoughts exactly.

: I worked at McD's also as an underpriviledged youth, and yes, maybe I did
: pick up some good work habits that have helped me along my way.

Well, it's nice to see you have the cranial capacity to learn.

: That is insignificant in light of the fact I worked for the lowest wages
: allowable by law, and was treated disrespectfully by lowlife high-school
: dropout managers who worked there to support their off-hours drug usage.

You were how old? You had what type of experience? NASA turned you down because you were overqualified? Of course you were paid minimum wage! What did you expect?

As for the drug using managers, what was done about them?
The way I see it, either you didn't care about them (maybe even bought drugs from them yourself?) or feared losing your fantastic job and so was forced to do nothing about.

: One of the most positive things I ever did was quit.

Oh! I guess you didn't care about the job, therefore, you must have been buying dope from your manager.

: - because it's one depressing environment - if you get sucked into : the lie of being promoted into management at McD's you might as well : call it quits for your own self-esteem.

That's right, I forgot you failed to become a manager (after years of work I'm sure) and, as a result, have very little self esteem.

: Not to mention working in a company which is in the business of
: cruelty and murder of animals for business.

You had better be a vegan (a vegetarian whose diet consists of plant products only) or you are on very, very thin ice. I bet you don't know a thing about the meat manufacturing business and where Mc.Donalds stands in terms animal cruelty when compared to other fast food restaurants. It's near the top Einstein, look it up!

: And which markets unhealthful food to impressionable
: kids in colorful Saturday morning commercials. Ever notice how many
: of the young kids of today are overweight, and seriously so?

Fine - the food may not be the best in town, but that is partly due to your country's (U.S.A.) appalling food regulations. Didn't Jack-in-the-Box kill 10 or so people last year? In California, doesn't 1 out of every 4 chickens sold have salmonella poisoning? Have you ever seen a White Castle burger?

In Canada, our standards are high and it shows - our fast food tastes better than yours and one remains incredibly alive after consumption.

Getting to the issue of overweight children, I would like to point out that it's not "kids of today" it's kids of the U.S.A. - Americans are fat, fat, fat, fat, fat! Take a trip to Europe, Australia, Japan, Canada or anywhere else on the planet and you will see that people just aren't fat like Americans are. Sure, some older fellow in Germany may have quite a gut from too much beer and too many sausages but its not lazy obesity. McDonalds is everywhere - don't blame the one who serves it, blame the ones who can't stop eating it.

I eat at McDonalds and I am not fat. I am exposed to the U.S. McDonalds advertisements (and have been my whole life- 26 years), but I do not feel compelled to feast off it day in and day out. Americans make a conscious decision to eat the way they do and it can be seen in the way their grociery stores are stocked. It is very difficult to get anything decent for a reasonable price. The reason being that the crap sells better - there's no demand for the good stuff.

: Ray Kroc kind and caring? More like a businessman after the almighty profits,
: never mind the consequences. I'm sure a lot of Nazi youth in Hitler's army
: would tell you of the discipline and work ethics they learned. SO WHAT!!!

Good work ethics - "SO WHAT!!!" Am I to believe that you are trying to tell me that working in McDonalds is the same as training in Germany's Nazi forces? If so, in what sense? I think you simply hate discipline and work in general. Get a life and stay off the Lysol!
