How we work in France

Posted by: ORSAL Lara ( ancient Mc Worker, France ) on June 19, 1997 at 22:03:31:

Hello to everyone who will read my message and excuse my english because I'm french... I just wanted to tell you a few things about our conditions of working in Mc Donald's in France as I have been working during two years in this firm as a cashier, while I studied english in University. They asked me to be responsible for kitchen area or for counter area, and to train the new employees. But of course, they did not pay me fairly for the work I did. It was as if I had to be very proud of the fact they put me in the charge of such a responsibility... As soon as I began to make them understand that their system was not fair but was working exploitation , they have done everything that could be done to make me quit my job. I have never been thanked for all the services I have done them, as coming to work when somebody was ill or staying late after my normal shift when there were too much work...
If you want more information about the conditions of working in french Mac Donald's restaurants, just send me an e.mail at cattan@email.enst.fr precising that it is intended to Lara. Thanks and good luck to every worker in the fabulous world of Mac Donald's !!!
