All food contains a certain amount of water. Even dried fruit and baked cookies contain a cetain amount of water. Fresh meat contains around the same amount of water as fresh vegetables and fruits. The water potential of food is actually used to determine it's ability to support microbial growth. Fresh uncooked meat can be broken down to 73% water, 26% protien, 1% fat. (Average).
