: i really don't know if conditions are the same in Australia but our pay rate is higher than most other part time jobs that I know of. I have worked my way up from a crew member, to crew trainer, to crew cheif and have been promised management within the next three months, who says promotional positions are scarce?: I am currently at University also and when I have finished my degree, I am sure my current job will help me in my career path. Stop "pitying" people for their choice of employment, not only has McDonalds given me a good worth ethic, it has helped me mature, find new friends and given me a higher confidence level and also something to fall back on if my future falls apart. Stop assuming we are all stupid individuals. I know I have a mind of my own and don't need Spotlight to tell me they pity me when McDonalds has probably been the most significant, life building episode in my life, and I'm sure many others.

I Totally agree. I work at macca's in Sydney's west and love it. In 6 months i went from casual to full time, and have worked my way up to crew trainer. I'm doing a course with Macca's and love that as well. I have been promised Management as soon as I turn 19. For all you people out there that think there is nothing in McDonald's and that it's a slave house, THINK AGAIN. You have to have the right attitude if you want to succeed. There's a saying at our store that if you can survive the first 5 months, you'll be there forever. Why not give it a fair go before you put it and the workers down.
