I don't know what a swing manager is, but I'm a floor manager, and this is my first visit to Mcspotlight. As far as the crew members, and people who work within the stores are concerned, we have little, or nothing to do with what goes on on the larger scales talked of in this site. Yes, we do get paid little for our efforts. Yes, we do get burnt, scalded, thirsty, tired and have abuse shouted at us. But most of us aren't there because we want to be the next Paul Preston, most of us are there to earn a little bit of money, because its all that's available with such flexible hours, and that's easy to get work in. I would love for there never to be any problems with Mcd's, but equally, I would love for there to be no problems with governments. But its a fact of human nature that the more power bestowed upon an organisation, be it political or commercial, the more liberties it will take. Please listen to me, it is not a complaint that should be taken up with the restaurants, nor the staff, so protests outside stores are futile, and disturbing to the individuals within that store. Maybe acceptance should be made that McDonalds is simply too big a company to expect to change, and anyway, don't the customers do the talking with their money. Mclibel, and the publicity it has received have ensured that people are informed of the allegations made, and certainly amongst my peers, awareness of all the issues exists. Yet they still eat the food.
