To whom it may concern:
I first discovered the Debating Room this fall while I was exploring the Net. A former (and bitter) McDonald's worker, I posted a very anti-McDonald's message on quitting. When I later visited this page, I was pleased to see that several follow-ups had been posted. Little did I know that they were just the belligerent whinings of McDonald's managers. Outraged by the manner in which these so-called "adults" rebutted, I posted two follow-ups to express my thoughts. Although argumentative, I saw no difference between my responses and the ones I was commenting on. The Debating Room screeners, however, saw things differently. One of my follow-ups was posted, after several omissions, while my other one was "lost" altogether. It seems the Debating Room wasn't too happy with what I had to say. I find it ironic that in a forum labeled "debating," someone else decided that my opinion wasn't appropriate. I stumbled onto this page through a connection on a Rage Against The Machine website. I wonder if they(the band) realize that this page is run and regulated by the same type of powers that they are against. Last time I checked, the Internet was still a venue in which free speech was allowed. I guess that doesn't apply here. It's really my fault, though. I shouldn't have expected so much from something that was connected to the McDonald's name. I am very curious to see if the Debating Room has the courage to post this, or if it will be discarded in the same manner as my right to free speech has been.

McSpotlight replies:

Messages to the debating room are only rejected when they are
abusive, threatening or irrelevant. Recently we have reached our disk quota
and have become more ruthless in our rejection of irrelevant posts such as'me too, I agree' and 'get a life' style messages. When an email address is supplied we inform the contributor if their message is rejected and explain why. We do not censor messages on the basis of opinions expressed being different from our own - that should be clear
ro anyone that spends a few moments reading the messages in these forums.
