workplace health and safety regulations

Young (15-19years) people need some sort of protection.

Here in Australia we have workplace health and safety regulations
which must be adhered to strictly by both the employee and the employer.

The employer must provide adequate safety measures in the workplace
and the employee must work with these measures. The employee also has
the legal right to refuse to perform any unsafe instructions.

I know people who have worked at McD and have regularly been instructed
to perform dangerous tasks by "supervisors". The "supervisors" are
probably no older than 18 and the employees are younger. Neither has
been made aware of their legal obligations toward safety.

These issues should really be taught at schools if people this young are
going to be working under these conditions.
