Dioxin in water

I checked the page and I found it alarming as well. It may be of interest to some of you that Homebush Bay in Sydney, site of the 2000 Olympics has dioxin levels of over 6500 times the recommended limit. So much for the "green games". Apparently this was due to a chemical installation nearby which ceased operation 17 months ago and was owned by the good people at Union Carbide. Until a while ago there was a small sign prohibiting fishing in the bay. Grossly underfunded authorities (the NSW Environmental Protection Authority only gets $60 million a year) canot afford to fight far larger multinational companies. Swim in that.
