Very. With the existing software there is no provision to establish the source of a post or the identity of the poster. We could impliment a modification which would sometimes provide the IP address of the
posters (or the IP address of their provider) but this in itself would not solve the problem and we haven't found anyone who is willing to make that change to the system (or the many other changes that are needed to improve the debating room software). Even with the changes we could not prevent people from faking identities or spoofing other peoples.

I personally will not remove the post. Removing a post once accepted is not easy due to an unfortunate quirk in the software. To do so requires not only the message to be deleted (which is easy) but also the link from the index and others messages to be removed. This must all be done manually and is time consumming.

We 'generically' do agree the authentification of postings is not practical. What I have said here however are my own personal views.
I don't feel that the effort to remove the post is justified. I believe that your post pointing out that the post was fake is all that is required. I believe that work is required on the software but I am not able to do it and nobody else has provided their time to improve it.
