: O.k. here is my question to all you supporters or unsupporters of Mcdonald's. I have spent a lot of time looking for the right answer, trying to figure out if McDonald's is doing harm or not. In my town the Mcdonald's has given a lot of money to our small town. Anytime it involves kids I always see that Mcdonald's is the one supporting them. Is everyone blind to that. Doesn't anyone look at the positive things they are doing for us. I am.
: But, on the other hand anyone who distroys the rainforest in my eyes doesn't deserve my buisness. Although, that is my problem, I have found just as much info saying Mcdonald's doesn't distroy the rainforest as they do. That is why I am asking for any hard core proof that you can show me or tell me that will end this undecided battle for me.

: Thanks Sue

Some organizations are giving McDonald's way too much credit for being
some incredibly huge, evil empire out to destroy everything in its path (while making a tidy sum at the same time).

It is very much instilled in both the corporate and franchise systems
that an important part of doing business in any community, is doing something for that community. There are any of a number of ways many
different McDonald's are helping out. Anything from suppling a little elbow grease at a neighborhood project to buying and using over $100 million dollars worth of recycled products SYSTEMWIDE. THAT, is why you see your McDonald's out there supporting the kids. Because its the
right thing to do.

Even so, there are those out there who view everything cynically, make wild and unfounded accusations counting on an emotional response to cloud your judgement. They would have you believe everything has an ulterior motive and nothing is done without profit in mind.

It's true, McDonald's is a business and businesses like to make money.
There isn't anything wrong with that. After all, money is what buys computers and Internet time. But as with anything else, there has to
be balance.

You will just have to keep your eyes and ears open and make your own
decision.

(And no, McDonald's does NOT use rainforest beef, never has, never will).
