America and Alcohol

I don't think there is any question that minors are not free and shouldn't be considered free. That is a cornerstone of rational society.

In this particular question, I have to agree with you. Legally, we are considered adults (can vote, serve in the military, etc.) once 18. The fact that alcohol consumption has to wait another three years is ridiculous.

One thing I'd like to point out, however, is that a law prohibiting alcohol consumption under the age of 21 DOES NOT exist. The actual law simply forbids any Federal highway money to states that allow drinking under 21. So indirectly, it prohibits it.
