Most vegetarians aren't trying to say that everyone should
not eat meat, they just choose not to eat meat for themselves.
I choose to be a vegetarian because:
1. It is healthier to eat low on the food chain.
2. It saves resources and rain forest used to graze cows for
American fast food resturants.
3. People are starving all over the world because Americans are
eating more than their share of the world's food. If we used the
land used for growing grain for cattle and for grazing cattle to
plant food for hungary people. Those are my main reasons for being a vegetarian.
I hope that you don't judge all vegetarians the same, many
vegetarians still eat poultry or fish. Please try to be open
to our choice. Don't do the same thing that you say we are
doing to you, don't tell us what to eat!One more thing, you can very easily get all of your protein
from non-meat sources by eating combinations of dairy and
bread products which make a complete protein. The only thing
to worry about is calcium and B-12 which can be obtained by
drinking milk and eating a variety of vegetables. Please feel free to send e-mail. God be with you.
