: SURVEY

: Male/Female: male
: Age: 26
: Nationality: British
: Occupation: PR Executive
: Number of children (if any): 0
: Ever worked at McDonald's? no!
: Approximate number of inhabitants in your town: 300,000
: Approximate number of McDonald's in your town: 10

: E. Only went once
: F. Never

NEVER

: 4. When you go to McDonald's, what do you order? n/a

: 5. What do you like best about McDonald's? Why? nothing about McDonals is likeable.

: 6. What do you like least? Why?

The kind of working class scum who frequent McDonalds

: 7. If you had to use three words to classify McDonald's, what would they be?

greedy, arrogant, stupid

: 8. If you don't eat at McDonald's, where do you eat when you want a quick meal?

sandwich shops, or I go home

: 9. Are there other fast food places that you prefer? If so, which ones? If not, why don't you like fast food?

I will occasionally have fast food, just to remind me how shit it is - I always go to one-off restaurants rather than multinationals.

: 10. Describe what you think of as the "typical" McDonald's customer.

Thoughtless, uneducated, gormless zombies with no class and no integrity or ability to be discerning

: 11. How did you find this website?

I was looking for material for my own research into global advertising, and I'm interested in ther McLibel trial

: 12. If you are not American: Have you ever been to America?

Yes

: 13. Describe your vision of America in one sentence.

America is feasting at the world's most expensive restaurant, and writing cheques it cannot honour - at the end of the meal it's got one hell of a lot of washing up to do.

: 14. Do you think of McDonald's as distinctly American? Why or why not?
McDonald's is inherently American - greed, frivolity and wastefulness! Interestingly, the MCDonalds restaurants in the USA are somehow more acceptable than those elsewhere in the world. It's as if in the US the staff really do want you to have a nice day. Nobody gives a toss anywhere else in the world.

: 15. If you are not from America, do you think that McDonald's has a special marketing strategy for your country? (Ads, packaging, products, look of restaurant, etc.) Does this make them more or less appealing?

Yes it does - it is well targeted, but some of the ads are just offensive.

: 16. Do you think that the marketing campaigns have impacted your view of McDonald's (whether negatively or positive)? If so, which parts were most effective and why?

The ad campaigns generally sum up everything hateful about McD's - have you seen the poster of the manic psychopath holding a dozen new born babies with the slogan Enjoy more? what is this about? Its sick.

: 17. Describe an advertisement you have seen for McDonald's.

See above

: 18. Finally, is there anything else you would like to add? General feelings on McDonald's, suggestions for further research, etc.

Good luck with the work!

:
