It would not be OK to slaughter stupid people, and I don't believe anyone would advocate that now (thought the government in Singapore has introduced benefit rules which encourage the wealthy to have kids as the thought is that to get money you need above average intelligence, though that is a long way form Nestle making sterilisation a condition of employment for third world women). It is worth noting though that no matter how important we find the lives of our furry friends they don't really measure up to our own human experiece. I hope that faced with two fields, in one a hundred strange
cows and in the other a nintey nine strange people and equipped with the knowledge that one of these fields of creatures was to be led to a slaughter house you would not choose to 'save the cows'. You could keep one more living thing on the planet by choosing the cows but I don't believe that would justify it as a choice. Even a thousand strange cows
to one person should be an easy choice for all the most sociopathic.
The fact is that cows and people are as equateable as The Hardy Boys and Tolstoy. They may have alot in common, but my god, is the content different.
I say save the cow by all means, but don't even dream of comparing your neighbours burger to genocide.
