Can't we all just get along?

To the meat eaters: Hey, lay off the vegans!
To the vegans: Hey, lay off the carnivores!
I thought the motive behind this site was that McDonald's sucks. This is one idea on which I believe everybody can agree, regardless of dietary orientation. I'm not a vegan myself, although I have made a conscious effort to reduce my meat intake, especially red meat. I have friends who are vegans, and they don't picket my house because I've got a ribeye in the freezer. I don't go to McDonald's because when I do get the urge to have a hamburger, I don't want some processed mystery-meat patty given to me by the servile lackeys of a major multinational.
I think the best approach the vegans can take is 'leading by example.' That's what got me to reduce my intake, and who knows? Maybe someday I'll be able to stop eating meat altogether. But getting in my face and calling me a murderer is no way to get me on your side. Conversely, calling vegans "Commies" isn't helpful either.
So let's just cut each other some slack, eh?
