McDonalds is not being targeted alone. If you care to look in the
Other Multinationals section, you'll see plenty to choose from.
It's true that the prime focus here is McDonald's but that is mainly
due to the trial itself.

And as for there being more pressing issues, the two examples you
quoted can be linked to directly to Western eating habits of the
kind fostered by McD's, thus;

1) Why are people starving in Africa?

Numerous reasons, most of them stemming from the large amounts
of money they owe the West. Also exacerbated by the fact that
grain is exported from these countries to feed foreign cattle
(to try and pay off the debt). Result? Third World countries
with no grain to eat and a starving populace. It is worth
noting that in 1984/85 the Ethiopian government paid out more
in loan repayments (plus interest) than they received in
foreign aid.

2) Why are cattle treated badly?

The Western world's eating habits currently include a vast
overconsumption of meat. Which means that a) meat is profitable
and b) meat is produced in far higher quantities than the land
can support. Result? What meat is produced is treated appallingly,
to the point of being fed animal remains in order to add protein
to the diet (hello BSE!). And the world's #1 promoter of this
overconsumption? No prizes for guessing who.

O.K., I have oversimplified the facts a bit for the sake of brevity.

No, I am not saying the McD's is alone responsible for all of this.
But McD's is one of the multinationals fostering this unsustainable
and deeply sick way of life. For people to associate something
as unhealthy and unsatisfying as a Big Mac with "food" requires a
staggering amount of brainwashing and indoctrination. Look at the
media saturation, the gross overload of "McD's = the food you want
to eat". I can't think of any Tube station in London that doesn't
have a McD's ad somewhere prominent.

> God, anyone would think that the sugar/yogurt in the fries
> was an evil plan by McDonalds Corp to poison us, who cares?..

Don't be so naive. The one thing corpses don't do is buy McD's. So
white Western corpses are no good to McD's profits. Of course,
famine victims in countries with no McD's are no loss to the corp
(as long as they don't stop the grain flowing) so the corp is
totally indifferent to them, despite fostering the culture that
killed them.

One of the most frightening things about McDrones (those on whom
the brainwashing worked) is that they think McD's is a force for
good.

Of course McD's doesn't want you dead. You've got money.

Gideon.
