Philippine culture is radically different from that of the other Asian countries mainly because the Filipino psyche draws its resources from its colonizers. The religiousity of the Spanish is mixed with the paganism of the early Malayan culture and the liberalness of the Americans is mixed with the restraint of the Malayan culture. These characteristics are seen in a wide variety of cultural activities and celebrations.
