The smallest portable cassette recorder at the time, and the first one to use ICs. It measures 95 mm (W) x 108 mm (H) x 47 mm (D)-about the size of a fairly thick paperback╤which would no longer be considered "small" by modern standards.
The tape recorder has a pencil-size microphone with remote control, and was designed chiefly to enable people to record lectures and meetings, instead of taking notes, as well as for language study. At the time, no one thought to listen to music on the streets with a play-only tape-recorder and headphones; this was a style that came into fashion towards the end of the 1970s.
