Valentina Yegorova of the Unified Team won the closest Olympic Marathon ever, beating Japan's Yuko Arimori by only 8 seconds. The closest Men's marathon took place in 1920. Finland's Hannes Kolehmainen beat Estonia's Juri Lossman by 12.8 seconds.
