Orimpikku Netsu, Japanese for "Olympic Fever" hit the "Land of the Rising Sun". Four Olympic torch-bearers were accidentally knocked over by jubilant crowds as the flame was carried through the city of Nagoya. The Tokyo Games set a new standard for organizing, facilities, and yes, spending for Olympic host cities. Tokyo got a $3 billion facelift which included spectacular and uniquely designed venues for events and a new underground transportation system.
